Donald Trump and Iran: Amid the ongoing fierce war between America-Israel and Iran, there is also heat on the diplomatic front. Contradictory statements have emerged regarding the talks between American President Donald Trump and Iran’s National Security Chief Ali Larijani.
Trump’s claim of talks and Iran’s clear denial
American President Donald Trump recently claimed in an interview that Iran’s new leadership wants to talk to him and they have also agreed to this. However, Iran’s National Security Chief Ali Larijani clearly stated on the social media platform ‘X’ on Monday morning, “We will not have any kind of talks with America.” This statement by Larijani directly rejects Trump’s claim and further clarifies the rift between the two countries.

‘They’re too late’ – Donald Trump
In an interview with ‘The Atlantic’ magazine from his Florida residence, Trump said that Iranian leaders should have reached out sooner. He added, “They want to talk now and I’m ready, but they should have done it much sooner. They’ve waited too long and now it’s a tough game for them.” Trump also mentioned that many of the people involved in the previous talks are no longer alive, which points to the recent military strikes on Iran.
War expected to last 4 to 5 weeks
Talking about military action, Trump said that the conflict could last another 4 to 5 weeks. He said that Iran is a big country and it could take that long to complete the military process against it. According to Trump, the US military will continue its operations if necessary, even though he says the door is open for diplomacy.
Political Uncertainty and New Leadership in Iran
The political situation in Tehran has become unstable following the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. President Massoud Pezeshkian has said that a temporary council has been formed to exercise supreme power in the country, which includes himself, the head of the judiciary and a member of the Guardian Council. Following Khamenei’s death, there is great uncertainty about the future direction of Iran and its relations with the United States.
