Russia Warns US and Israel: Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, Russia has warned the US and Israel of serious consequences. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has made it clear that any military attack on Iran would have devastating consequences not only regionally but also globally.
Attack on nuclear facilities is dangerous
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, referring to the attacks in June 2025, said in a recent interview, “Targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities is a threat to international security. Such attacks endanger the very existence of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Due to the attacks, Iran is now seriously reconsidering the physical security of its nuclear material. However, Russia has insisted that this material is currently under strict control of the IAEA.
Joint military exercises and strategic partnership
Amidst these tensions, Iran and Russia have further strengthened their friendship. Both countries have announced joint naval exercises in the Gulf of Oman and the northern Indian Ocean. This exercise is being considered a direct challenge to Western countries.
Large US military deployment in the Middle East
According to reports and data from ‘Axios’, the US has made unprecedented military preparations in the region. 2 aircraft carriers and more than a dozen warships have been deployed. More than 50 state-of-the-art fighter jets, including F-35, F-22 and F-16, have been dispatched. In addition, ammunition and weapons are being delivered continuously through more than 150 cargo flights.
